Now, here are the vampire army regiments. I love the look of the new GW undead army. All black and white.
This is a regiment of zombies.
Most of these zombies are from the GW zombie regiment box.
This box is quite good, with some gravestones, a variety of heads and arms.
I painted the whole regiment with sick, greenish skin.
I think it was a fault.
The whole regiment should have been black and white, so that it fits better to the rest of my army.
Now it really stands out.
On the left you see my bat-swarms.
They are very easy to paint. Just a base-coat of black and then dry-brush.
You can highlight the faces with pink as I did.
The swarms can be used to block enemy flanking maneuvers or to kill enemy war machines.
Here is my skeleton command group.
You can swap parts with other regiment boxes to make them more interesting.
You see parts from the zombie and the empire box.
The skull on top of the banner is from the skaven regiment box.
This is my grave digger regiment.
Like in the film "Army of Darkness" these skeletons dig for their brothers to join the army.
The skeletons are from the GW regiment box ("Skeleton Warriors Regiment" from Aly Morrison and Colin Dison, 1999, Product Code 99110207080) and heavily modified.
The picks and shovels are made out of the spears.
The tops are removed and new ones made out of Milliput.
The skeletons were modified with a hot soldering iron.
Below is a close up of the wheelbarrow.
The wheelbarrow is scratch build out of balsa. The arms (bones) of the skeleton needed to be bend a little bit. I do it with a soldering iron. Hold the arm above the iron and wait till it gets soft. Then bend it and put it in a glass of water so it get's hard again.
These are the Games Workshop Direwolfes.
They have metal heads, but I only used half of them.
The wolves look a little bit funny with the huge teeth.
I painted them black and dry-brushed with gray.
The snout and paws are dry-brushed with pink and shaded with a little bit purple.
Here are my wrights. As you see I have again used parts from the zombie sprue. The head of the champion is from a plastic bretonian knight. Here and there i have glued some paper on the bones to make some rotten flesh. Maybe i should glue some more. They still look a little bit to clean.
